Community First Project Delivers Training to Six Texas Departments
Community First Project partnered with Boerne Police Department and five surrounding agencies for a week-long training designed to strengthen officer readiness in critical situations. Officers from Fair Oaks Ranch PD, Boerne PD, San Antonio PD, Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Leander PD, and New Braunfels PD trained side by side, sharpening their skills and building stronger regional collaboration.
This course was made possible through the generosity of the Jorge Pastore Foundation, whose support ensured that every participating department could access this vital training at no cost. Learn more about the Jorge Pastore Foundation here.
The instruction focused on equipping officers with tools to de-escalate volatile situations, identify threats under pressure, respond effectively to active shooter incidents, and perform with confidence in high-stress environments. Through scenario-based training and expert-led exercises, participants developed practical strategies they can bring back to their communities.
By removing the financial barrier that often prevents agencies from accessing advanced training, Community First Project, together with supporters like the Jorge Pastore Foundation, ensures officers have the preparation they need to protect and serve when it matters most.
